About The Community Newspapers
In October 2002, The Flint Journal began publishing eight weekly newspapers with a rich history in Genesee County.

Those weekly newspapers are:

• The Burton News For many years, The Burton News was known as The Suburban News. The newspaper has been delivered to homes in Burton and Genesee Township as well as Atherton, Bendle, Bentley and Kearsley school districts since 1973. The name was changed in October 2002 to better reflect the communities the newspaper serves. It is delivered to homes within the 48506, 48509, 48519 and 48529 ZIP codes.
• The Clio Messenger
  The Clio Messenger has been published since 1907 and serves the city of Clio, Thetford Township and Vienna Township. It is delivered to homes within the 48420 ZIP code.
• The Davison Flagstaff
  The Davison Flagstaff has been published since 1983 and serves the city of Davison, Davison Township and Richfield Township. It is delivered to homes in the Genesee County portion of the 48423 ZIP code.
• The Fenton Press
  The Fenton newspaper is one of the newest weeklies, first published in early 2002. It serves the cities of Fenton and Linden, Fenton Township and Argentine Township. It is delivered to Genesee County homes in the 48418, 48451, 48430, 48442 and 48462 ZIP codes.
• The Flint Township News
  The Flint Township News has been published since 1939 and serves Flint Township and Carman-Ainsworth School District. It is delivered to homes within the 48532 ZIP code.
• The Flushing Observer
  The Flushing Observer, which serves the communities of Flushing city and township and Clayton Township, was first published in 1882. It is delivered to homes within the 48433 ZIP code.
• The Grand Blanc News
  The Grand Blanc News has been published since 1928. It serves the city of Grand Blanc, Grand Blanc Township, Atlas Township, and the village of Goodrich. It is delivered to homes within the 48439, 48411 and 48438 ZIP codes in Genesee County.
• The Swartz Creek News
